After searching actively for real-life projects to work with during my bachelor thesis, I came in contact with WhyWaste that is a modern company with a great focus on creating sustainable products and services that reduces food waste in stores through data driven solutions. They had come up with a new type of fruit scale that evaluates if, for example a banana is more ripe than usual. By doing so, the customer can then get a discount on eligible items.
Our bachelor thesis took the concept one additional step towards a release, where a plan for further development was handed over to WhyWaste with the evolved design of the preferred interaction flow for increased usability and attractiveness to customers.
